Star and Lucky
Our name-sake horses, these two were friends for many years. They were the “beginning” of Lucky Stars Barn. After spending several years at different boarding facilities, Lenore decided to offer the type of barn that she would trust with her horses. Lucky retired from a long career on a large cattle ranch and Star, who served in 4-H and as a lesson horse, became the first boarded horse. Their names combined , and her dream came true!
Over 40 years of experience will go into the care your horse receives at Lucky Stars. Lenore has been with horses since childhood. With a background in rural 4-H, barn management and natural horsemanship, she is a responsible business owner with a caring touch. Her philosophy is to provide high quality care for a very affordable price!
Lenore started feeding horses at a young age, “I’ve been caring for horses for a long time! They are amazing animals, each with their own personality. When I was a kid, my favorite days were spent with my Dad’s horse…I loved my time at the barn!”
There is no other place I would trust with my horse than Lucky Stars Barn. If an issue arises, Lenore is quick to call with an update, and has a wealth of knowledge that she is more than willing to share. It is obvious that she truly cares for each and every horse, and she goes out of her way to make sure they are properly taken care of. As someone who works in emergency services, I truly appreciate the calm, methodical, and prideful way this business operates. The grounds are clean and well taken care of, there is access to fresh water, and the horses receive quality feed everyday. It is not uncommon for Lenore to check on the horses more often and to give them additional feed in adverse weather conditions.. It is a relief to know that no matter the weather, time of day, or unforeseen event, my horse is in the best possible hands.”

“I have been shoeing horses for Lenore for 20+ years. She has a good way with horses, very calm and patient. Lenore always wants what is best for the horses. Lucky Stars Barn is a great environment for people and for horses.”
“Fun Day at the Barn”! In October, we all dressed up AND dressed up our horses! Our just-for-fun events included barrel racing, pole bending and gourd dropping! Afterwards, we relaxed and laughed at the pot luck.
